Strong presence of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Greece at Zappeion Int. Bridge Festival

The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Hellenic Republic supports the 10th International Bridge Festival that takes place at Zappeion Megaron (Athens, 4 – 10 September 2015). The 10th International Bridge Festival is the most important entry in this year’s calendar of international Bridge events with more than 500 athletes from every corner of the globe competing in their favorite game, in an anniversary event also open to the general public, organised by Militos Consulting, in collaboration with the Hellenic Bridge Federation.

The Embassy’s presence in the 10th International Bridge Festival signifies the commitment of Azerbaijan to supporting large scale international sports events, as it recently did, so successfully, with the hosting of the 1st European Games in Baku (June 2015).

Regarding the Embassy’s support, H.E Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Rahman Mustafayev released the following statement:

“Azerbaijan has always been a bridge between West and East, providing cultural interaction and confessional coexistence, exchange of ideas and trade, regional peace and cooperation. Bridge is not only an exciting mind sport with millions of players around the globe but also a potentially strong symbol of how we envisage the role of our county in the modern sports world”.

During the Festival there will be an info kiosk showcasing the rich cultural tradition of Azerbaijan, while participants will receive gift samples of the country’s artistic output.
