Facts and nature of bilateral relations Greece recognized independence of Azerbaijjan on December 31, 1991. Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Hellenic Republic were established on April 2, 1992. Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Hellenic Republic of Greece was opened on April 16, 2004. Embassy of the Hellenic Republic in the Republic of Azerbaijan was opened on May 27, 1993. |

Inter-parliamentary relations Working Group for the Azerbaijan-Greece inter-parliamentary relations in Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan consists of 10 parliamentarians. Speaker of Milli Majlis Mr. Oktay Asadov paid a working visit to the Hellenic Republic to attend a meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation on June 9-11, 2008. Economic cooperation (main directions and trade turnover for 2021-2023) Co-chairs of the Azerbaijan-Greece Intergovernmental Commission are: Mr. Parviz Shahbazov, minister of energy of Azerbaijan; and Mr. Konstantinos (Kostas) Fragkogiannis, deputy minister of foreign affairs of Greece. The Commission has convened 4 meetings so far. The last meeting was held in Athens on May 26-27, 2016. |
